Chris: NEFs are the file output you get when you shoot in the raw mode on
the D100. I like the raw mode because of the fexibility it offers. It
sharpens better than JPEGs because it isn't compressed like JPEGs. If you
over sharpen a JPEG it becomes very pixilated. NEFs are also sharper than
JPEGs and you can enlarge them farther (or crop them harder). The downsid
