-> They work well the Couriers, don't they :).
You better believe it! ;)
-> No one is misbelieving that you _saw_ this CPS rate on your comm
-> program. However, there might be a difference between the actual CPS
-> rate and the rate displayed by the comm program.
->
-> Myself, for instance, get CPS rates of around 5'500 on 28k8 connects
-> since I installed Windows NT :). Now there are two possibilities:
-> either I say that I have the best modem around and that Nyquist was
-> wrong, or I admit that there must be a problem with the way
-> FrontDoor calculates CPS under NT 4.0. And I _know_ that it's
-> FrontDoor doing wrong calculations as they're based on NT's clock
-> (timer) ticks. And there _is_ a problem with those :)
Thank you,
at least you're not attacking my post as being a
crock. The only problem is that both sides of the connect (I in
terminate and the Sysop using a fossil and frontdoor) reported the same
cps rate. I had to call him to confirm this.... I couldn't believe it
myself... I had to check it out and it was the one and only time that I
have ever seen this speed out of my modem... with the exception of raw
text.
TTYL,
Bill Cooper
