I've seen ports that are opened but with nothing listening on them, I =
don't know how or why this sometimes exists but it does. I can even =
reproduce it. Install W2K server with the NNTP service, run it, telnet = to
the nntp port to confirm that it's there, then remove the NNTP = service
and the port remains open even though there is no service to = serve it.
Telnet to it now and you get nothing but run a port scan and = there it is.
