Depends where you are, Mars gets up pretty high in the sky here ATM.  I've been
seeing it not that long after sunset, and seeing it again in the morning before
sunrise.  Not normally out late, but it would come close to going overhead, as
the Ecliptic at night would pass within 20 degrees of zenith at midnight this
time of year.  Winter is a great time for astronomy - clearer skies, longer
nights and some key objects like planets being higher in the sky. :)
