subject: Freeing a `stuck engine`

I hope the moderator will bear with me for a minute. I have a car which is
ot
exactly an old car (1988 Toyota Corolla). It has a stuck engine, due to the
owner running it with no oil in it. It locked up, they added about 4-5 quarts
of oil, and it is STILL locked up.
Old cars which have been sitting around for a while have problems with
stuck engines. I thought some advice from others might help in this case.
I will post what I am planning, and see what you folks might suggest.
I plan to pull the spark plugs, and I want to squirt some penetrating oil
nto
each cylinder. I plan to add about 2-3 teaspoons per day for several days in

row. If this fails to loosen it, then I plan to remove the valve cover, and
gently rock the camshaft back and forth to see if the lockup is in the upper
end or the lower end of the motor. While open, I plan to again add
enetrating
oil around all bearings and moving parts. If this does not help, then the
ext
step is to remove the oil pan, and do the same with the lower end. Perhaps
losening the crank bolts and using oil on the main bearings will help to get
it loosened. Finally, the same procedure might help with the rod bearings and
the rod caps.
Has anyone used these ideas before?
Did they work?
What type of oil should I use?
I know it might have ruined the engine, but if I can get a little more life
out of it, I can give it to one of my neices or mephews just beginning to
drive. It is not worth putting a great deal of time and money into, as it has
about 180K miles on it. The body is reasonably good, it is a white 4-door
model, automatic with blue interior. The previous owner owes me money for
storage and for labor, so I plan to file a mechanics lein against it to get
the title.
If anyone is interested, I will post the results of my efforts to get it
running. That is also assuming the moderator will give me a little leeway as
it is not technically an "Old Car".
                                   o
              All the best, \ _\/^\ _

Some wisdom for today is...
There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept.
