VM> I find myself when doing ribbon
embroidery (as little as I've done) making up stitches to fill in places
or using a different stitch than the pattern calls for. Is it o.k. to
invent stitches? I feel like such a cheat but if it works I leave it
just so that I won't get mad. Lots of times I pull out the stitches and
start over and over. Then sometimes I get mad and just invent my own
stitches. Of course
being the perfectionist I am I never like the project when I feel like
it has stitches that aren't "real" ribbon embroidery stitches.
Hi
Who cares whether you make up stitches or not if they look good? since
I don't know anyone else close by who does ribbon embroidery, I don't
know exactly how any stitch is supposed to look. I only know if I
finish a piece and I like how it looks. I don't even know if th women
at work would tell me if they didn't think a pin or blouse I made looked
great. I guess I just have to go on whether I like the appearance of
embroidered items. Trust your own judgement. Your stuff probably looks
great too.
Have you ever seen the video put out by Buscilla where they show how to
do some stitches? I printed the directions you sent and I'll try that
stitch. It will be a new one for me so I'm excited about trying it.
I'll let you know after I do.
Sara
