I'm no authority, but offhand, I'd say IF the games consisted of only raw
scores, with no annotations, no author would object to a game being quoted
with credit to the book given... generally speaking, game scores aren't
considered copyrightable.  Annotations and some collections are, but my
experience with authors has been that if you give credit to their book (thus
potentially increasing their sales), there is little they object to .
