ù Quoting Bob Rudolph from a message to Ryan Bagueros ù
BR> No, it isn't - it's more as if a guy had the tools, and knew of the
BR> jobs, and you agreed to work for him for a certain rate. CHOICES
BR> again. YOU agreed to therate - if you think it isn't enough, that
BR> isn't HIS fault, it's YOURS for agreeing to his terms.
Once again, you nitpicked my story instead of getting to the heart of the
issue. Because when you get to the heart of the issue, you realize that what
you are talking about is a bunch of guys doing work, with one of them doing
the
least work but is in charge and getting all of the benefits. You still didn't
answer the nagging question that you are trying to ignore: what about if
there
*was* no boss, there *was* no investment risk, there were just houses to be
sided and people to do them, working for their own benefit?
You claim that this is a CHOICE, but this is a lie. When someone goes out and
looks for a job, you can envision and imaginary line, where there is a pay
limit relative to the jobs that the person is qualified for. In other words,
if
someone is a sider, and knows how to do it, they have these choices: a) work
at
McDonald's, or something like that, and get paid nothing, or b) go with one
of
the few siding jobs available to you at the time you need a job. And then it
is
more limited because the person may or may not hire you, etc.
You act as if getting a job is like going shopping, i.e. I'll just stroll
through the aisles, no need to rush, until I find one that is good. But this
*isn't* the situation. At any given time, there are only so many job
opportunities available, etc.
Furthermore, as I said, your argument doesn't say anything as far as what I'm
saying. Where is the job that the people who do the work get all the benefits
of it? Here's a clue: THERE IS NONE, unless you want to work at one of the
collectives that I'm talking about - and even those are limited because they
exist in a capitalist system.
I know that the television and the pledge of allegiance and the politicians
constantly say that there is CHOICE, and unless you question them on what
they
mean by choice and try to break out of the socially conditioned definitions
imposed on you, you'll probably end up believing anything they say - just
like
you seem to have.
