1) Switch to TSE (QEdit's professional version -- not shareware) which has no
   limits in size (it will swap to hard drive as needed);

2) After you've created the many smaller files, use the dos "+" function to
   merge them back: copy area.1 + area.2 + area.3 +..... + area.x areas.bbs
