I've seen cracked serial numbers out there, I think it's just a hash of the 
registration name. Not the answer to your question, it might help, though.

FYI, I have license keys for 2.20 and 2.30, I was a big user back in the 
'90s. I even have a message of mine in the sample BW message packet included 
with the reader!  :)
