Just to bring people up to date, with the problems of high speed miss, I did 
replace the vacuum hose between the carb and the vacuum advance on the 
distributer and that appeared to be the problem.
I replaced it just because I had enough hose and when I started it up, the 
change was amazing.  Runs smoother at an idle and appears to be okay at the 
higher rpms.
I appreciate everyone's suggestions and help last month.
