No "religious objection" taken. I freely use a mix of dos, win31, and
os/2 apps. Your point of using os2 native tape utility is valid.
However, I am not sure one exists for the "Backpack" parallel port
connected type I currently have. My point about compatiblity is that
many native DOS programs work poorly or not at all under OS/2's DOS
support. This includes tape backup software intended for DOS. I have
had experience with Colorado Jumbo and now Backpack's QBACKUP. They
simply don't work under OS/2. Thus my need to keep most things FAT. I
do (sometimes) use a os/2 backup utility, "Back In A Flash." I have had
success in the past saving and restoring the important stuff-- EA's and
the DESKTOP with this utility. If anyone is aware of a native os2 tape
utility that will work with Backpack, please tell me.
