I have a Pur Plus filter that I'm very happy with.  The main reason I bought 
it was to get rid of the smell in my water and ice cubes, and it's done a 
great job of that.  I like the taste and smell of the filtered water enough 
that I no longer buy bottled water.  It's also one of the higher rated 
filters for getting rid of contaminants, though I haven't had my water tested 
to see just how good it does.
