Sounds like you should be talking to g00r00 then about making mouse tracking in Mystic optional (e.g. a user terminal setting). I assume that when you have mouse support turned on for the user in Synchronet, you'd get the same behavior (mouse can't be used for copy-to-clipboard unless in scrollback mode).
If you really think that something should be changed in SyncTERM, then go here to file a feature request: https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/issues
