The "Terminal (TELNET)" server in Mystic is separate from the "BINKP" server; the former only accepts BBS calls whereas the latter accepts incoming mail using the binkp protocol. So they can coexist peacefully.

Outgoing calls are placed by './mis poll' commands, and are driven by the mis binary itself, i.e., they do not rely on the "BINKP" server (which only accepts incoming mail) being enabled/active, if I recall correctly.
