You will typically be expected to provide your own mask, fins, snorkel, and
boots. I would recommend buying them from a dive shop rather than a local
sporting goods place.....so much of what a dive shop does involves educating
the public. You'll want to get a mask that fits as well as possible....the
dive shop guy can show you how.
Find out how much their course costs and what is included. Here's specifics
that you'll want answers to before you give them any cash:
   1. When does the class meet? How many weeks?
   2. How many hours of lecture vs hours of pool time?
   3. Where is the open water training done?
   4. Is equipment provided for the pool sessions? For the open water?
   5. What expenses can I expect to incur during the open water?
       Transportation, hotel, food, etc.?
   6. Is the textbook included in the cost of the course? How about the
       C-Card?
   7. What *exactly* am I going to have to provide to finish the entire
course, from start to C-Card? How much will it cost?
