subject: Fragmentation in Netw

I haven't been reading this thread, so someone may have discussed this
before: I was under the impression that Netware will always create files
using contiguous blocks IF they are available. Thus, ensuring that there
is plenty of free space would mean fragmentation never occurs, and that
existing fragmentation could be fixed by freeing up space and merely
copying files.
However, I can't find any reference to this in any 3.12 manuals or
NSEPro. Have I got it wrong, or was it something that applied to an
earlier version?
If fragmentation actually improves Netware performane, why doesn't it
deliberately fragment? It ought to be easy to do.
