I just copy and pasted my config files. # denotes a commented line. I would think root access would be a security > risk. the user variable is not the user that will be logging into the bbs but the user the password athentication/login system runs as. These rights are not passed on to the user. The telnet logon dameon handles that after/durring logon. > I'm not clear on why you first create this file in /home and then later > place it in /home/bbs ? Should it exist both places, or are you > simply moving it? sorry when I user home directory I mean the primary directory for the user. the "HOME" directory of any user is always /home/username. This become home. Bit confusing if your not familure with the file/directory structure. When you create a user you will be asked for a home directory. This is where the .profile should go. 99% of the time it will be located in /home/(username) (for bbs would be /home/bbs) > Other then that, I did some slight editing and placed this on the FAQ > page, but could you look it over and make sure it looks ok? > > Regards, Mike > No problems _______________________________________________________________ --- Internet Rex 2.29* Origin: The gateway at The Snake (2:280/4312.101) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 280/4312 774/605 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
