You can force Maximus to display the welcome file to new users and rookie 
users. Just add a [link]misc\welcome to the end of NEWUSER2.MEC and 
ROOKIE.MEC. Works for me.

Yep. Still interesting after 12 years.
Oh yeah, dumb advice time. Don't forget to mecca your mec files after editing 
them.
