My ancestry was instrumental in building the railroad infrastructure in Canada,
under SLAVE-labour conditions as prisoners of war. The war had ended, but the
government and the railroad were so impressed by this workforce, they continued
to intern them, in order to build one more hotel.

Even the foreman/engineer was Ukrainian, and a fellow internee. When the job
was well started, he turned to blueprints upside down, and placed the kitchen
in the location the guests were supposed reside, in order to monopolize the
prime scenery as a sign of solidarity to the working class, and to thumb his
nose at his captors.

By the time the supervisor returned to the site, they were so far along, there
was no going back. A terrace off the kitchen was hastily included in the job
description, in order for the paying guests to garner a view of the spectacular
water fall.

All my ethnicity has asked for, is an apology. It has yet to arrive.
