You could nail up a voice call on either B channel in the USA.
I loved running the BBS on an ISDN line - did so for a couple of years in the
1990s. Outbound calls were charged by the minute, but inbound was free. I had a
56K modem plugged into one B channel and got 48K-52K connects some times, as my
half of the connection to the central office was digital and less error prone.
I used the other B channel to connect to my Fido uplink via Internet Rex, and
if I needed more bandwidth could nail up both B channels to my ISP, which was a
device at my place of work.
