Can you believe I have had 10 Amazons and only one of them was a female.  My 
birds were all wild captures except one.  The performing group consists of 
two Napes and two Blue Fronts.  They put on a 45 minute performance.  They 
have had as many as 250 people hold them after a performance.  We do many 
preschools and nursery schools and that means our audience is often 2 year 
olds.  The birds have never bit anyone from the audience. The birds range in 
intelligence from quite smart to below average in intelligence.  TJ, is the 
least intelligent of the group, but performs some rather difficult tricks 
because he tries so hard to please me. The smarter ones can be difficult to 
train sometimes.  I agree with you that birds are very special.  I am certain 
that Meggie is as smart as my boys, if not smarter.  My guys just are out in
