No one decent came up to run against him because Clinton controls the DNC
and put all its weight behind Gore.

Granted. But I'm not at all convinced that McCain and Bradley would have
been any better.

I think the Demos would have been better off with Bob Kerrey and the Repubs
better off with John Kasich. But I don't get to make these decisions for
them.
