Who is "no-one" ? How many people do you know that has tried? What
were they using, a $10 multimeter from Tandys?
PE> means the true resistance is somewhere between 0 and the limits of

Zero resistance = super conductor.
Since superconductors are never found outside a laboratory it is safe
to assume that your battery cable has somewhat greater than zero
resistance.
