This afternoon my (former?) boss had an appointment (16:00 hours) with his
boss.
 
Instead, shortly before the scheduled time, the Human Resources (Personnel)
director appeared at my (former?) boss'es office. Simultaneously a
uniformed officer (I work for a local government) was stationed in the
building (just in case any "problems" arose).

At about 16:30 (4:30PM), my "boss" (followed by both of the others) left
the building. At 17:15 (5:15PM), a locksmith was in the building changing
the locks on the cabinets and the office (and the door) of my (former?)
boss. 

GREAT!!!! My (former) boss'es tachnical skills matched his management
skills (both at Neanderthal grade levels). Friday evening I expect great
celebrations by the others in my department!
 
It's sad to celebrate the "departure" of a (former) supervisor. But,
unfortunately it is sometimes the best decision.
