[Apr 03, 97 - 18:17] Colin Stewart of 1:140/234.3 wrote to Jerry Schwartz: JS>> I just double-checked this: 1:270/104 shows the sysop "PEACE" according to JS>> Bonk; 1:270/101 shows "PEACE, GEORGE" as sysop. In the Netmail area, if I JS>> address a message to "George Peace" msged/386 v4.00 comes up with the JS>> 1:270/104 address. It seems to find the first occurence of the last name. CS> Mine (when I entered George Peace as the recipient of a netmail message in CS> my netmail area) came up with the following: CS> 1:270/103 Pennsylvania Online HST CS> When I entered Peace, I got this: CS> 1:270/104 Ftphub Distribuion. CS> I'm running Msged/386 4.00, and use Qnode to compile my nodelist, which is CS> .073. I'm running the same version of Msged, but using Xlaxnode. I have suspected for a long time that there is some variation among programs in the way a Version 7 nodelist is handled, but precisely what I don't know. If I use Bonk to access the nodelist in sysop order, 1:270/104 comes before 1:270/103. I wouldn't be surprised if you saw something different, which would suggest that QNode and Xlax sort a little differently. ::: Look for the ridiculous in everything and you find it. - JULES RENARD ˙ Jerry Schwartz @EOT: --- Msged/386 4.00 SDޝ9"* Origin: Write by Night (1:142/928) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 142/928 1 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/624 50/99 635/728 633/267 |
