I used a Seaquest Black Diamond a couple of years ago for a season. I
had no problems while using a wetsuit but only had marginal lift for a
drysuit that I was using at the time. I went to a Dive Rite system the
following year which had the same type of floatation configuration and
higher lift. Some others offer the same basic type of BC with
interchangable bladders which may be benificial to you, IDI, USD
Sherwood, if you need that feature.
My only complaint with the Black Diamond is that the hose that attaches
the power inflator to the BCD is a smaller diameter than that used in
most other manufacturers BCD's. When the power inflator was damaged by
something dropping on it, grace thy name is not Dennis, I had to wait
for a week or so to get in the correct replacement as the generic
replacements did not fit, nor did the inflator off any other BCD we had
around. In addition you may have to replace the rear over pressure cap
with a cap/dump valve at additional cost, the one I used did not come
with the dump valve as standard, if you wish to be able to dump the air
in a head down position.
Otherwise not a bad BCD.
Be wet and well.
Dennis
