I've got to agree here. Nearly all of the music that really means a lot
to me, is music that I've found on my own or somehow managed to get to
me on its own (via friends or the off-chance of picking up something
that looked interesting at a record store). I'm sort of a believer in
fate, anyway.
Speaking of, wasn't Jack Lemmon great as Prof. Fate in _The Great Race_?
