The CD rom and the sound card sockets will IME have the pins labeled.
R for right channel G for ground and L for leeft channel
(common pin patterns are RGGL and RGLG)
WC> blank, white, black, red
G L G R
(which is RGLG backwards)
WC> white, blank, black, red
L G G R
(which is RGGL backwards)
check the labeling of the connectors on the two devices if the Rs Gs and
Ls line up it should work fine.
if you can't make them line up, the wires come out of the plugs if you
depress or lift
the apropriate retaining tab (use a pin or a jewelers screwdriver.) and
pull gently on the wire.
