JP>-> I agree. One should always look and learn. But not create ghosts
JP>-> that are not their either. And I fear that is what you are doing.
JP>-> There are many reasons for not owning a gun. Far more then the
JP>-> two you've come up with. If you're really worried about it, ask
JP>-> him. But a smearing worry game is the same sort of thing the
JP>-> republican & democrat spin doctors do to each other.
JP>Nolan, I must respectfully disagree with your claim that I am engaged
JP>in a "smear campaign".
JP>A "smear campaign" is when members of the opposite party spread
JP>deliberate lies about a candidate.
JP>By definition, if they say something nasty about a candidate, and
JP>it's true, it's not a "smear campaign", they're just getting out the
JP>truth about the candidate.
I respectfully disagree with that as well. if I start commenting about
how Bob Dole must be a highly skilled pedophile, because he hasn't
gotten caught yet molesting little boys, that is a smear campaign.
Everything I just said is true, the conclusion and inferences are not
though. By saying Dole is a skilled pedophile I am not "getting out the
truth" in any way shape or form.
What's more, I did not state, or claim that you are engaging in a smear
campaign. I expressed concern that you might be. A substantial
difference. I left my words expressing this concern above so you might
verify them.
JP>Now in this particular case, members of Harry Brownes **OWN** party
JP>reported that he had never publicly defended the 2nd Ammendment and
JP>didn't personaly own any guns.
And that is very different then what you started with. Members of his
own party pointing out that he has not ever publicly defended the 2nd
amendment is markedly different then allegations of pacifism and
comments about his not being willing to defend against tyranny.
JP>**IF TRUE**, then these two facts should raise some questions in the
JP>minds of any pro-2nd voter about the depth and seriousness of Harry
JP>Brownes commitment to our cause. They certainly did in mine.
Aye, I agree. These new words raise higher questions I've already had
about Mr Browne, and the party. Which is why I've contacted them and
requested information about them, Mr Browne, and their stances. Have
you?
An interesting note about that phone call, they didn't ask me for money.
Every other time I've contacted a political party (especially the
republicans and democrates) they start off with asking me how much money
I'm going to give them, and end the conversation with another barage of
money begging questions. "Are you sure you won't reconsider", "Don't
you want to help America", etc. The libertarian party never, ever,
asked for money.
