When I'm not pissing people off I can come up with some really good
suggestions.... and here is one... I have recently subscribed to a UseNET feed... When I first got setup he had a fidonet.na file and and I auto-added the areas. As part of this file each area had some sort of unique name and then the area definition was the actual UseNET group name... Looked like this...
u7055475 alt.abortion
u5334240 alt.acting
u5795186 alt.activism
u2895624 alt.activism.children
u3019480 alt.activism.community
So... as I auto added the areas into Mystic it gave each area a unique file name for the message areas... giving them an 8 and 3 structure.
This person has since added new areas to my feed, not a big deal, Mystic auto-adds the areas... but as you know Mystic is auto-creats the areas the storage file names are huge... alt.hampster.duct-tape.*
Could Mystic just auto-add the areas with some computer generated hexadecimal 8 character file name unique to that message area so instead of creating JAM files that resemble the alt.hampster area it would be RANDOM12.*
Thanx
