I have a *.MSG format Netmail area. Most other areas are SQUISH except
internet mailing list areas. I was also using NetMgr and MsgNum to relink,
renumber and delete messages. I'll try running Msged stand-alone and see if
it works.

No luck. I just tried running Msged from the command line with no batch
files, with the function 0 macro set to: function 0 ^m * \0x1e
when MsgEd booted up it scanned all areas, and showed my netmail area as
having 0 messages. Hitting the * key caused it to scan again, and it then
showed the correct number of messages in the NetMail area.

I don't know how it could have cause this, but I was having trouble with
MsgNum. When I started using it messages in my netmail area were numbered
into the 3400's, and for some reason MsgNum would not renumber them. I
manually renamed about 200 messages down to the 200 to 400 range, and then
MsgNum would renumber them correctly. But, as I mentioned above, even
running MsgEd without running MsgNum doesn't seem to work right. BTW, now
all *.MSG areas are numbered correctly (1 to 300).

I also tried commenting out the function 0 macro, and booting MsgEd. I then
manually hit , then *. After the scan, Netmail showed no
messages until I scanned a second time.

Thanx for checking this out Andrew.
