Hi MIKE (of 1:167/133),
On , you wrote me:

Nope. Mine is a model 266. Anyway... the update on the situation: I
managed to place it into another PC afterall, and I had to let Window's
"check for available modems". It walked through all the com
ports (and even ADDED com2 and com3 during that time!), and it reported a
14.4k fax modem. The diag tests which step through a pile of AT commands
revealed "14.4" in one of the reports.

SO.. the model 266 is a 14.4 afterall.

Was that an offer to ship the 56Ki to me?!!! I decided to pull an old
28.8k Sportster (which happend to be upgraded to 33.6 speed) from an old
computer that I decided didn't need dial-out capability.
