SO> I've got one sitting in my cupboard, and they are *NOT* Austel
SO> approved,
SO> that's why mine's still not sold... Don't try and sell it as if it is
SO> Austel
SO> approved it's probably illegal (the selling, not the modem)...
SO> Don't rip this guy off !
Shaun,
The MC2400 that I have sitting in my left hand as I 2finger thump the
keyboard with my right clearly has both British AND AUSTRALIAN approval
stickers marked on it. It has several sheets of paper issued by AUSTEL
explaining rules and regulations regarding the use of such devices in
Australia, it also has its own serial # AND a sticker with the following...
MC2400 AUS SY:94A6
910902 40220-2 V3.2
Now if this Modem is not AUSTEL approved I think I could most likely SUE
both Amstrad who furnished the package with all of those bits n pieces and
Harvey Norman, from where I purchased the thing, after seeing it advertised
in one of their Catalogues.
Just cos you bought yours from somewhere else doesnt mean the particular
modem that I purchased, and several of my friends, is not. Wake up and
smell the coffee huh. You dont know where and how every modem was ever
bought or sold and just cos you (probably - Im not about to make the same
mistake you made) used yours illegally doesnt mean anyone else has.
As to ripping the guy off, he posted his msg about 4x, I was not anbout to
sell the modem, I only offerred cos his 4th msg was a desperate one, and he
uses the same, very friendly BBS that I use. I would even have dropped it
in to him to make sure he got it in time.
Damian.
