PN> Do _we_ think that one vote in one election is gonna do it for our
PN> side?
of course not we told the gun banning left what we thought
two years ago. now right and left want to bann our guns and limit
our rights. you expect me to replace one gun banner with another?
PN> I'm gonna be driven right back into the arms of the Libertarians.
already there Bud check this out
I did a cruise of the www election polls last nite, and (if I can get
the data unscrambled from the different files) here are the results:
The Virtual Election, with votes totaling 12,950 had Harry Browne in the
lead with 3,458 (26.70%).
Bob Dole comes in second at 3,327 (25.69%). Mr. Bill with 2,511 (19.39%)
at least beat out Buchanan (1346, 10.39%), John Hagelin (823, 6.36%)
Ralph Nader (516, 3.98%), Ross Perot (428 3.31%) and Other (398, 3.07%).
The Survey Net Political Poll (#3, started 2/6/96) had 6700 total
respondants. This is an extensive poll, asking about 20 demographic
questions in addition to the basic voting query. I think this poll
checks your name and won't let you vote more than once. Political
affiliations of responants were counted at 30.0% Republican, 28.4%
Libertarian, 15.6% Democrat, 14.7% Independant, 3.9% No Answer, 2.0%
Other, 1.9% Not registered to vote, 1.7% Not a US citizen, 1.0% Green
Party, and 0.6% United We Stand.
From a list of about 20 potential and actual candidates, Harry Browne
wins again at 2415 (36.0%). The President comes in a distant 2nd place,
at 1161 (17.3%). Ex-Senator Dole gets 761 (11.4%)..
Here are some of the other results from this one:
8.8% - Pat Buchanan
5.6% - Gen. Colin Powell
2.8% - Other
1.7% - Newt Gingrich
1.7% - Ross Perot
1.4% - No Answer
0.9% - Phil Gramm
0.8% - Jesse Jackson
0.6% - Rick Tompkins
0.4% - Richard Lugar
0.4% - David Duke
0.1% - Pat Robertson
When asked, "Of the following two candidates, who would you vote for?"
The results are: Bob Dole gets 41.9%, Bill Clinton gets 29.2%, and NOTA
got 28.8%.
With a little more choice at 6 candidates, the similar question gives:
37.4% - Harry Browne
22.4% - Bill Clinton
14.6% - Bob Dole
11.2% - Pat Buchanan
7.9% - Steve Forbes
3.2% - Phil Gramm
3.2% - NOTA
Well, that's all I feel like putting together. If you want to vote for
your favorite, you can access these 2 polls and about 5 or 6 more at:
