Amanda development continues, with many new features added!
- a new /kill parameter: remove packet, no matter what happens
(except errors)
- if the pack operation fails, the outgoing packet will be
sent unarchived
- if rnews fails, then the incoming Fidonet packet is retained
- processing of incoming messages has been speeded up
- scanning of inbound directory has been sped up
- The Waffle subdirectory name is no longer read from the
environment variable WAFFLE, but from the static file.
- Test mode
Erin has become much more stable, and is fast approaching
releasability like never before. If you are interested,
let me know!
** A NEW PRODUCT! **
With the new developments, a Fido API has been created (API is more of
a misnomer; you could call it a library). The Fido API has functions for
the more common Fidonet packet and bundle processing functions, as well
as some useful functions (like advanced chdir (achdir) which handles
drive specs and paths with or without slashes at the end, and like
redirectq, which returns TRUE if stdout is being redirected).
If you are interested in this, let me know!
All of these will be available soon (but not right now) from 1:121/23.
The aliases are AMANDA, ERIN, and FIDOAPI. Currently, Amanda beta J
is available.
