RN> Yes. I still have that 18 foot (540 cm) pine tree limb laying near where
RN> I park my car. I haven't been able to tend to it yet because the weather
RN> won't cooperate. It has been raining all day here today and the last two
 RN> days.

One of mine drainpipe stoped working so I had to call a "digger"
with a little
Bobcat to dig it up so now my lawn at the front of the house looks a bit like
a disaster area too.

RN> Yes, it is missing. I'm waiting for the prices to come down some more
 RN> before I get one.

They are rather cheep here now.

BF>> If you are intressed I can send you some from where I live but this
 BF>> requires an email adress.

 RN> rjnel{at}bellsouth.net

I will send some to you.

RN> No. I'm retired. I do pretty much what I want.

At what age do you retire over there?
Here it's normal at 65 but now when there are bad times one can retire at 63
it the company agrees.

RN> It doesn't snow heavily enough to collapse the roofs over there?

No. The houses are designed to carry it.
I have never heard of a roof-collapsing due to snow.

RN> That's exactly what I meant. Our lines are insulated, so I cannot
RN> understand how the squirrels or snakes that are inclined to climb could
RN> cause that. I'm not saying that snakes don't know how to climb, but why
RN> would they climb a utility pole?

They can have damaged the isolation and then when it gets whet, there will be a
flash-over.
We sometimes have problem with the porcelain-isolation in the 10 000 V poles.
It can crack and then there is a flash-over when it rains and theese problems are
very hard to find and fix.

RN> What do your snakes do? (-:

We don't have that many snakes here. Only two kinds where one is poisonous and
that is the Viper. It can kill but it's very rare it does. The other one is
the Copper-snake
and that is not realy a snake.

RN> It's been a long time since we've seen any snow in this area. I think the
RN> last time was about 17 years ago.

We see it every winter.
It even snows in the Greek Islands. I have seen pictures. I didn't believe it.

RN> It has been the same here. Once the rain stops and we get two days of
RN> sunshine, I can begin clearing up the yard, which looks like a disaster
 RN> area.

It's now 07.30 and there is a funne light outside. A big yellow thing is lighten
up the sky. Wonder what that can be.

RN> I have an unusual situation here. I have a Covington phone number, a
RN> Mandeville address, and 100 yards (90 meters) away from me on the same
RN> side of the street is the city of Abita Springs fire tower. I'm
 RN> surrounded. (-:

I'm only surrounded by trees and fields wich you will see on the pics.
