All I said is if WU were rooted it would present an increased risk to WU
clients. Rich said that's not true. Until now I have said nothing more than
that but for you I'll explain a little further exactly what I was thinking
but remember Rich claimed it's not true with no further information than
the above and has done everything he could to divert attention away from
that simple concept.

WU requires IE and that certain IE features like active scripting and such
be enabled, so if you attempt to tighten your security for the internet
zone you then have to add WU to your trusted sites zone or you can't use
it. It's got nothing to do with modifying the patches. It's required to
stay patched, it requires IE, and it requires unsafe features of IE be
enabled.
