news:420e7e88$1{at}w3.nls.net... I have not suggested that we don't patches
that can be saved to CD today (that's silly to even say since I've been
advocating manual patching for years), I have suggested that it could stand
a bit of improvement in the area of user friendliness.
As for creating it myself, since I wouldn't be allowed to distribute a
single exe that contained all the patches and had the checkboxes as I
described, my work would be of no value to the NT community. This is
something only MS can do unless you think it likely they would be willing
to allow distribution.

Hi,
tryed http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q296861/. QChain is nice utillty.
Also, You could make a fronted to (G)UI installation with checkboxes. You
do not bundle upodates, You just make offering for downloading updates from
site, XML configuration files and a little VB, VC, WScript + IE forms
Dialog with checkboxes :)
It is easy to make, can be stored on the CD, etc., also, if having central
repostiroium with ipdates, like SUS, make a SUS log readable, and the
utility to read out updates, also, You could make dynamic dialog creation
depandable on updates find in repositorium.
Etc., etc., etc...
Make it and Ill use it rather then mine :)
Enjoy.
