ù Quoting Ron Taylor from a message to Ryan Bagueros ù
RT> No more than the lowest "class". Everybody has choices. The
RT> parameters may be different, but priorities are what _make_ the
RT> difference.
So, a rich kid has the choice between his father paying for four years at
Duke
or his father paying for four years at Stanford. A poor kid has the choice
between working a crappy job for 40 hours a week and working 40 hours a week
and going to school at the same time, putting himself into debt. Is this what
you mean by "different parameters"?
RT> Wrong again Bucko. Nobody is denying the presence of racism,
RT> classism, and sexism. Evil will never be eliminated. What separates
RT> the true "classes" is how you deal with it. To blame evil for your
RT> plight is worse than those who would perpetrate it against you. You
Bull. First of all, racism/classism/sexism are not EVILS, as in some
unearthly
force acting, but are the DIRECT results of conscious decisions made by human
beings. How do you "deal" with racism? YOU don't have to, because you aren't
subjected to it. So how do we separate you into the "true classes"? Welcome
to
real life, the "true classes" are separated by what color your skin is, how
much money you have, and if you have a penis or not.
As for me being a victim, no, I'm not. Why? Because instead of letting these
forces degrade me as a human being, I've decided to FIGHT BACK against them,
not try to work around them, not compromise my principles for them, not try
to
apologize for them (in other words, all the things YOU do).
