   The Klein government retreated Thursday on its Third Way health reforms, 
scrapping proposals to allow doctors to straddle public and private systems, 
and permit private, forprofit care. Facing a backlash and questions from the 
public, the government conceded a defeat of sorts and will axe the two 
proposals from its health policy framework. Parts of the blueprint will be 
shelved for at least a year. However, the Tory government will still table 
health legislation this spring for ongoing consultation before proceeding with 
any overhauls of the health system. “We are not prepared to proceed with 
private insurance at this time,” said Alberta Health Minister Iris Evans.

It's over, the federal government stoped it, looks they had a BIG problem with 
it, the federal government said the would stop our transfer payments. Which 
means no money coming to Alberta from the feds, if the Alberta government went 
ahead with the Third Way.
