-> I DO THINK HE BET ON THE MLB, BUT THE PUNISHMENT FOR HIS CRIME WAS
-> EXTREME. DOC GOODEN WASN'T FORCED OUT 4 LIFE FOR DOING DRUGS, YET IF
-> YOU BET ON A GAME, YOUR GONE! I PERSONALLY THINK IT IS OUTRAGOUS AND
-> A DISGRACE THAT PETE ROSE IS NOT IN THE HALL OF FAME. HE WAS A
-> REMARKABLE BALL PLAYER AND DESERVES TO GET WHAT HE EARNED
I continue to have my doubts as to if Pete Rose did it (I still think he is
innocent), but even if (I repeat, IF) he did indeed bet on baseball, you have
a point. Steve Howe, SEVEN time substance abuse "loser", never banned for
life. Doc Gooden, FOUR times, never banned for life. Darryl Strawberry, THREE
times, never banned for life. Good god, that loser Latrell Spreewerll
ATTACKED his own coach, got a one-year suspension (since reduced to seven
months), and had his voided contract re-instated... And we are talking about
aggrevated assault, if not attempted murder (attempted murder for telling
Carlesio "I'm going to kill you")... And even if Rose did gamble on baseball,
this is supposed to somehow be worse than those?? No way.. Why they made such
a big deal is simple, it's baseball's gambling paranoia because of the 1919
Black Sox, and nothing more. They think they have to control ALL gambling in
baseball, or it'll happen again.
I will continue to state that the only thing I feel Rose did was cheat on his
taxes, and he served his time for that. If cheating on your taxes is a worse
offense than assaulted your own coach, then I'm the Queen of England..
