Hey, are you the "crazy indian" Marie keeps talking about?  Well 
welcome aboard!  I hope to get to know you better.  I assume she means 
Native American Indian as opposed to Oriental Indian.  I am part 
Tsalagi or Cherokee - about 1/16ths - and I'm 15/16ths Wannabe, as in I
Wannabe a full blooded Indian, otherwise known as FBI.

I do keep some of the customs, in so far as I know them, I have a 
native american name given me by a healer/priest of a different tribe, 
I wear a medicine pouch and in it I have a coin I got with a medicine 
shield on it stating "Native American In Recovery" - with a prayer to 
the "Great Spirit" on it rather than the traditional Serenity prayer.
I'd like to learn more as I find the ceremonies an important part of my
total 11th step routine, which draws from as many sources within my 
mixed heritage as I can.

Anyway, I definitely am an alcoholic, drug addict, and codependent - 
have the compulsion so that the first drink or drug triggers craving 
for more, more, more, etc. ad nauseum, ad infinitum.  I can't drink or 
drug in safety and have been avoiding doing so for almost ten years 
now, a day at a time, with the help of my H.P. as I understand my H.P. 
and also the fellowships of recovery that I am in.
