I'm with you on this one. Of all the divers I have been affilitated
with over time the best were those that rose through the ability ranks
through practical application of experience. Experience is a form of on
the job training so to speak if done properly and can lead to a more
intimate knowledge than academic training alone (be sure however that
not all experienced divers have developed this knowledge). The
experienced diver in this case is most to fault for encouraging somesone
with insufficient experience to do a dive profile that they were not
able to do safely. After all if the old salt says its no problem how
many will question it?
Be wet and well.
