Thanks, the fuel tank and related items appear to be in REALLY good shape. 
Thanks for the suggestion.  I havn't gotten to the repair yet, but I did find 
a leak in the vacuum from the carb to the distributor.  I'll fix that in the 
next day or two and do the other things that were suggested.
