Your right there Wayne, but I'm talking back in the days of wringer
washing machines when I did wet film darkrooms.

Wa> True, but how many photos can you take at 5 to 7 megapixels per photo?

I can get quite a few in flash cards, and transfer the flash cards to
the laptop if need, but I'll be honest, I don't seem to want to shoot
that much anymore. On the new DV camera, if I were looking at Sony I
would be interested in the Sony DP-150 right now. It's a 3 1/3" CCD
camcorder with very good specs, but doesn't do stills I believe.

The Panasonic VX 100 is also a nice looking unit, and does 24 FPS for
 easy conversion to film.

I'm sitting tight on all of it saving my pennies to spend later when
the 1020 sized HGTV stuff comes around. My rig is humping now to
handle 740 x 480 and I know it's not enough horsepower for when the
new stuff surfaces. That means new computer, probably 64 bit by then,
and new drives, probably 15000 rpm scuzzies to handle that much data,
and new software to process the data stream, and of course a new
camera. There is a very limited selection of hardware about right now.
Some firms claim HD software, but not really. Buy now and be obsolete
in two years is how I see it. So save your pennies unless you need it
to make a living right now.. Lucky me isn't in that category. It's fun
being able to just play without worrying about where the next meal is
 coming from.
