I am sorry that I took so long to contact you.  It has been very hectic with 
remodeling and repairing our home.  Yes, I do write for BIRD TALK as well as 
about a dozen other publications.  I do not own the old Amazon, A Nape called 
Polly.  Polly lived til he was 106 and owned by a friend of mine, Judy 
Nichols.  He was a very interesting guy and boy, could he swear!  He lived 
most of his life in Alaska. I don't know everything about Napes but do own 
three of them.  They are all males, in fact I have owned 10 amazons and only 
one of them was a female.  Obviously I am not doing much breeding.  Presently 
I have three Napes and three Blue Fronts.  This year due to a broken bone in 
my foot, I am only using two Blue Fronts for my performing troupe, The 
Amazing Amazons.  We have two sons that live in Naples, Florida.  This year 
we visited them and thought Naples was absolutely beautiful.  I hear that it 
gets pretty hot in the summer.  It sounds like you have a nice group of birds 
to add interest and love in your life.  Aren't they wonderful? Joanie Doss
