subject: inside wiring

-> MF> I'm thinking about replacing my inside wiring, what kind of wires
-> MF> would be the best for me to use?
->
-> I take it you mean for your telephone system?
->
-> Personally, I don't think it matters a great deal. Any decent-
-> quality twisted-pair properly installed will work well.
The current wires in the house aren't twisted pair and are 28 or 26
gauge.
-> Before everyone jumps up in arms: I have 50 feet of the cheapest
-> "telephone extension" cable (with RJ jacks on each end) that I could
-> find strung along the baseboard and occasionally played with by the
-> cats. I get 33.6 connections every time, all the time with my ISP,
-> and always better than 28.8 if the remote is capable of those speeds.
Your lines must be really good then, Since the Telecommunications bill
passed, their are more phone companies to choose from, and I'll probably
change over to AT&T local service.
