Well, looks I was sucked into the increased birth legend as well!

It's nice to see someone else is aware of Snopes and the "other" urban 
legend website, named oddly enough, Urban Legends and Folklore

Whenever someone sends me a message about the latest whatever it is I'm 
supposed to watch out for or belive in, I check one of the web sites, and 
pass on whatever is learned. One fellow actually cussed me out -- a friend 
-- for looking "it" up. Told me I took all the fun out of it.
