Hi,

You can try MS antispyware, then again, nice softW. is Pest Control (I
think MS bought them but they push their own) which is working quite ok. I
asked 'bout the chipset because maybe it's an VIA (which is base for AMD
too) and maybe You should update Your chipset drivers (known problems with
shutdown).
Also, if not using SP2 on XP then You could try xpmanager (ver. 4.8* is out
now) which have an repair option know as: "Repair Windows wont
shutdown" or something like that :)
It's free for 15 days, so ... :p
